How I Spent 2017

How I Spent 2017 Daisi Pollard Sepulveda

It was both an expansion year and a break which I never thought I’d be able to afford at the same time.

I started 2017 in a rather dark place. I was pretty burnt out in general, uninspired and found it hard to muster up the energy to execute projects through the 1rst quarter. Midsummer I coincidentally found myself with an opportunity to take a break - and it was so worth it.  I just wanted to stay home.

From there I was able to work on new investments and laying the groundwork for new projects I wanted to evaluate for 2018 and beyond - all from the comforts of my home and my favorite coffee shop. Breaks can be productive!

During my break, Lance and I took a road trip up to Santa Barbara for seafood, I finally finished Seneca and Sapiens. Both were great books! I highly recommend them if you haven’t read them yet.

The last quarter of 2017 has been a real winner. I’ve been feeling reenergized and motivated. There’s been a lot of excitement all around, especially with Tesla and Bitcoin. I joined the Women Like Us Foundation Ambassadors Board, we moved into another new building in DTLA, I started traveling again and spent more time with people I care about.

For me, it has been a year that started off out of alignment and continuously found it’s right calibration. I’m looking forward to 2018.
